Obituary

Morris William Pringle, 82, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. He was born on March 20, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of George and Irene Jones ‑Pringle. From his earliest years, Morris carried with him a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a deep love for family — qualities that would define his entire life.

Morris graduated from Garfield High School, where he made his mark as a standout athlete in both football and track. His determination, discipline, and competitive spirit were evident even then.

After high school, Morris began what would become a forty ‑one‑year career with General Motors. He was known as a dependable, hardworking employee who took pride in doing things the right way. His colleagues respected him not only for his dedication, but also for his kindness. Morris was truly the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back.

In 1967, Morris made his home on Fifth Avenue, where he lived for nearly six decades. He took great pride in caring for his property, and his meticulous lawn became a point of admiration throughout the neighborhood. The City of Akron recognized his efforts many times with awards for his exceptional lawn care—honors he accepted with humility and gratitude.

Above all else, Morris was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He loved his family deeply and supported them with a steady, quiet presence. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and generous nature touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue through the many people who were blessed to know him.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, George and Irene; his beloved wife, Corrine Pringle; his son, Darell Jones; and his brother, Charles Pringle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter‑in ‑law, Aaron (Jackie) Pringle; two grandchildren, Darnell Pringle and Darlesha Taylor; seven great‑grandchildren; two sisters, Debbie Glenn and Phyllis (Darryl) Hollis; one brother, George (Hazel) Pringle; and a host of nieces, nephews, in ‑laws, neighbors, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
