Malika Khalifah, affectionately known to family and friends as "Neek," was born on June 5, 1983, in Akron, Ohio, to William Phillips and Deborah Lewis. She departed this life far too soon at the age of 43, leaving behind a legacy defined by vibrant joy, unwavering loyalty, and deep love.

A devoted daughter, sister, and mother, Malika’s greatest pride and joy were her three cherished children: her sons, Ronald Belfield, Jr. and Ronnells Belfield, and her daughter, Rolanda Belfield. Family was the center of her world, and her warm, protective spirit was a constant foundation for those around her.

Malika was a true free spirit who lived life boldly and completely on her own terms. Unapologetically authentic, she remained true to herself no matter where she was or who she was with—what you saw was always genuine, pure heart. She brought life to every room through her love of music, her passion for dancing, and her ability to turn any gathering into a joyous celebration. With her open heart and magnetic personality, Malika never met a stranger, turning friends into family wherever she went. Her laughter, free-spirited energy, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral Services will be Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:00 pm at the Wellington Funeral Service 811 Grant Street Akron, Ohio 44311. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm until time of service.
